Cabinet lauds ICC for arrest warrants on Netanyahu and Gallant, says Fahmi

PUTRAJAYA: The Cabinet welcomes the International Criminal Court's (ICC) decision to issue arrest warrants against Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Israeli defence minister Yoav Gallant over alleged war crimes.

Unity government spokesman and Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil said the Cabinet also praised the countries that gave their commitment to cooperate with the ICC to apprehend the accused war criminals.

The Cabinet also discussed the arrest warrants here on Friday (Nov 22), Fahmi told a press conference after the meeting.

"Surely, they (Netanyahu and Gallant) will not come to Malaysia as we have never recognised nor do we have any diplomatic ties with Israel," he added.

In a historic decision on Thursday (Nov 21), the ICC announced that arrest warrants had been issued against the two for alleged war crimes in Palestinian territories, including Gaza.

The warrants were issued amid Israel’s ongoing genocidal attacks on Gaza, now in their second year, which have claimed the lives of approximately 44,000 Palestinians, mostly women and children, and injured over 103,000 others.
