Johor to upgrade four health clinics, relocate some facilities, says MB

JOHOR BARU: To enhance the public healthcare system in Johor, four health clinics in the area will be upgraded, with some relocating to new locations.

Johor Mentri Besar Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi announced after visiting the Gelang Patah health clinic recently that a meeting was held to address rundown and congested clinics.

The clinics involved are Gelang Patah, Majidee, Tebrau, and Kulai health clinics.

Various issues and suggestions were discussed to address these matters in phases.

As a short-term measure, the state government has allocated RM2mil to upgrade facilities at the first three clinics.

Upgrades will include ultrasound machines, air conditioning systems, seating in waiting areas, wall fans, computers and printers, and tables and chairs for doctors and nurses, as well as ambulances.

An additional RM1mil will be allocated to transfer the mother and child health services from Gelang Patah to other premises to accommodate population density in the area.

Iskandar Puteri City Council (MBIP) has provided RM1mil for public parking spaces for medical check-ups at Gelang Patah.

For long-term measures, new clinics are planned for Gelang Patah, Majidee, and Kulai, with sites identified.

The Johor government is confident that with federal support, issues of rundown clinics can be resolved.

Efforts to improve health facilities aim to enhance the comfort and quality of life for locals.
