Siti Nurhaliza honoured with National Arts Award in Kuala Lumpur

PETALING JAYA: The country's renowned singer, Datuk Seri Siti Nurhaliza, expressed her deep gratitude for being awarded the Biduwanita Negara at the National Arts Award 2024 on Wednesday (Nov 13).

Reflecting on the bittersweet moment, the 45-year-old singer recalled her late father, Tarudin Ismail, who always described her as a jasmine flower.

She stated, "I always remind myself that every success and all the support have been the backbone of my career over the last 29 years."

Born in Kuala Lipis, Pahang, Siti views the award not only as a testament to her success but also as a symbol for everyone in the arts who celebrate the beauty of the country's traditions.

"Thank you to the government, especially the Tourism, Arts and Culture Ministry and the Communication Ministry, for this award," she said as quoted by Sinar Harian.

She added, "I wish to express my heartfelt gratitude to all, especially my husband, children, mother, late father, family members, management, and staff."

Siti also acknowledged the recording companies, producers, composers, and lyricists involved in her albums' production.

"Arts connect and unite all of us, regardless of religion, language, or country."

Previously, Siti Nurhaliza's manager, Rozi, shared joyful pictures of her receiving the award.

She accepted the honour during a grand ceremony at the Anugerah Seni Negara 2024 in Kuala Lumpur on Wednesday (Nov 13).
