Siti Nurhaliza conferred honorary master's degree by Sunway University

National songstress Datuk Seri Siti Nurhaliza Tarudin has been conferred an Honorary Master's Degree in Creative Arts and Media by Sunway University in recognition of her outstanding contributions to Malaysia's creative arts industry.

In a statement, Siti described the recognition from the university's Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences as a tremendous honour.

The celebrated singer said the award was not only a recognition of her artistic journey but also a tribute to Malaysia's music and creative arts industry as a whole.

“Alhamdulillah, receiving this Honorary Master’s Degree in Creative Arts and Media from Sunway University is a tremendous honour.

“This is not only an appreciation of my artistic journey but also the highest recognition for everyone in Malaysia’s music and creative arts industry.

“Thank you to the management of Sunway University for this truly meaningful honour,” she said in a statement posted on her Facebook page on Thursday.

She said the recognition also reflected the growing appreciation and respect that the creative arts and media industry now enjoys within the academic community.

Siti expressed hope that the award would inspire local artistes and the younger generation to continue producing quality work.

“This recognition proves that the creative arts and media field is a highly respected and prestigious profession in the academic world.

“May this award inspire the younger generation and local artists to continue creating high-quality work with integrity while elevating our arts and culture to greater heights. Thank you @sunwayuniversity,” she said.

Meanwhile, Sunway University also congratulated Siti on receiving the honorary degree.

The university said the award was presented in recognition of her outstanding contributions and inspiring journey in the creative arts industry.
