GISB CEO's teachings are deviant, says MKI

PETALING JAYA: The teachings and beliefs propagated by Nasiruddin Mohd Ali from GISB Sdn Bhd and his followers are deemed deviant from Islam, according to Datuk Dr Nooh Gadut, chairman of the National Muzakarah Council for Islamic Affairs Malaysia (MKI).

He stated that this decision was made at the MKI meeting held from Sept 24 to 26.

According to a statement from Nooh, the six deviant teachings originated from Asy Syeikh Muhammad Suhaimi, the Imam Mahdi and founder of Al Arqam, with Assari Muhammad as his assistant.

Additionally, GISB is said to practise the economic concept of 'ashi,' which includes elements of slavery.

He advised Islamic individuals to distance themselves from such teachings and understanding, as they deviate from original Islamic teachings.

"No individuals should teach, spread, or practise such deviant teachings, and they must repent," Nooh was quoted saying by Sinar Harian on Thursday (Nov 14).

Nooh also mentioned that any publication, print or electronic, containing elements of Nasiruddin's teachings and GISB is prohibited.

He noted that MKI has proposed implementing 'istitabah' (repentance) at the federal and state levels and allocating necessary funds for this purpose.

He added that Islamic Development Department (Jakim) has conveyed these views to MKI chairman Sultan Nazrin Muizuddin Shah and the 237th Rulers Conference from Oct 23 to 24.

"The state authorities can consider MKI's decision for the gazetting of the fatwa on this issue," added Nooh.
