Asyraf Wajdi: Strict action will be taken on attempts to cover up bullying at Mara institutions

PETALING JAYA: Majlis Amanah Raya (Mara) institutions have been warned that strict action will be taken on attempts to hide or cover-up bullying incidents.

Mara chairman Datuk Dr Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki, in a Facebook post Monday (Nov 11), warned that no Mara institution, including Mara Junior Science Colleges (MRSM), should try to sweep bullying cases under the carpet.

"I have been instructed by Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi to take action against any principal involved if a bullying case is concealed," he said.

He said there will be zero tolerance for bullies in any Mara educational institute.

He said he did not care if it involved the children of high-ranking officials or influential public figures.

"If they are found to have committed bullying, they have no place in Mara. I have made my stance clear: 'You Touch, You Go!'," he said.

He said if he received information that there were attempts to hide or cover up bullying cases for any reason, he had been instructed to take strict action, including transferring the principal or director of the involved MRSM or Mara educational institutes.
