FashionValet probe: Vivy Yusof, husband leave MACC HQ with investigator

PUTRAJAYA: FashionValet founders Datin Vivy Yusof and Fadzaruddin Shah Anuar left the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) headquarters here at 4.23pm on Wednesday (Nov 6) after a second day of questioning.

According to Sinar Harian, the married couple exited the MACC compound accompanied by an officer wearing an MACC jacket.

The female MACC officer was seen sitting in the front seat of the vehicle that transported Vivy.

The presence of the MACC officer in Vivy's vehicle raised questions among the media personnel who were recording the afternoon's events.

Attempts by the media to interview the couple were unsuccessful as the vehicle carrying them did not stop but continued to leave the MACC headquarters.

According to a source, Vivy left the MACC headquarters to retrieve some documents required for the investigation.

When asked if Vivy and her husband would be detained or if they would return to the MACC in Putrajaya, the source said that it depended on the MACC officers conducting the investigation.

"What I was informed, the process of recording statements for today has been completed," the source stated on Wednesday.

Vivy and Fadzaruddin were first summoned for their statements on Tuesday (Nov 5) afternoon.

The MACC has initiated an investigation into losses incurred by Khazanah and PNB from their investment in FashionValet, a local online fashion business.

The agency has so far questioned four witnesses from PNB, Khazanah, and the Finance Ministry to record their statements.

On Monday, investigators raided several premises, including the FashionValet office, and seized documents as part of the investigation.

In a written Parliamentary reply last week, the Finance Ministry stated that Khazanah and PNB sold their shares in the e-commerce platform for RM3.1mil to NXBT Partners in 2023.

This contrasts with the RM47mil investment made by Khazanah and PNB in 2018, comprising RM27mil and RM20mil respectively for minority stakes in FashionValet.

Vivy and Fadzaruddin have apologised for the losses and announced they would step down from their positions at FashionValet.

Vivy was the chief executive officer, while Fadzaruddin served as the executive director.
