Budget 2025: DPM expresses gratitude to Anwar for development allocation for Sabah and Sarawak

KUALA LUMPUR: Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof has expressed his gratitude to the prime minister for the attention given to Sabah and Sarawak in Budget 2025.

"Thank you to the prime minister for giving development allocation of RM6.7bil to Sabah and RM5.9bil to Sarawak.

"Infrastructure in Sabah and Sarawak was also given attention to decrease the gap in physical development between Sabah and Sarawak and Peninsular Malaysia," Fadillah said in a press conference at Parliament after the tabling of Budget 2025.

He also said this budget prioritises the rakyat's standard of living and increasing the country's revenue, which is important to continue upholding the country's dignity.

Among the things the budget also focused on were protecting the vulnerable, improving basic facilities and combatting corruption, he added.

Fadillah, who is also the Energy Transition and Water Transformation Minister welcomed the allocation given to that ministry, especially for the flood mitigation projects.

He hopes the implementation of these projects will help reduce the risk of flooding, especially during the monsoon season.
