Tan Kok Wai remains as FT DAP chairman


KUALA LUMPUR: Tan Kok Wai has retained his position as Federal Territory DAP chairman for the 2024-2026 term.

This was announced after the Cheras MP obtained 179 votes in the Kuala Lumpur FT DAP committee election during its 2024 convention here on Sunday (Oct 13).

A total of 22 candidates contested, with the top 15 securing spots in the party committee.

Segambut MP Hannah Yeoh, who received the third-highest number of votes with 180, was elevated by the committee from committee member to vice-chairman.

Meanwhile, several others also retained their respective posts, including Bukit Bintang MP Fong Kui Lun (deputy chairman); Seputeh MP Teresa Kok (vice-chairman); Kepong MP Lim Lip Eng (secretary); Yap Yee Vonne (assistant secretary); and Edmund Teoh Kheng Yaik (publicity secretary).

Fong Kok Seng is the treasurer while Allan Lim Ching How was elected as assistant treasurer.

Lee Bing Hong was elected as organising secretary, with Lai Chun Chian and Janice Choo Chen Leece appointed as assistant organising secretaries. – Bernama
