Linking girl's death to viral video of bullying is fake news, says school

PETALING JAYA: Claims that a schoolgirl fell to her death because she was a victim of bullying, as alleged in a viral video, is fake news, says the principal's office of the Kuen Cheng High School.

In a statement on Monday (Oct 7), the school said there was no link between the tragic incident and the videos.

"It has come to our attention that two videos circulating on social media are trying to link bullying cases of several girls to the incident.

"Those unknown girls who appeared in the videos are not students of Kuen Cheng High School and the location where the videos were taken is unknown and completely unrelated to Kuen Cheng High School," read the statement, adding that a police report had been made.

The school urged the public not to spread unverified information and added that it could take legal action against those who spread false news.
