KL court issues arrest warrants against 'Hot Daddy' and two others

KUALA LUMPUR: The Sessions Court has issued an arrest warrant for Hasli Ikhwan Arif Zul Hasli, known as 'Hot Daddy', after he failed to appear in court.

The 32-year-old was scheduled to appear before Sessions Court judge Siti Shakirah Mohtarudin for a mention related to his charges of solicitation of prostitution.

Arrest warrants were also issued for Hasli Ikhwan’s companions, Norshazrina Md Zamri, 27, and Norhidayah Mahadi, 24.

Their names were repeatedly called when proceedings began at 9am, leading the judge to postpone until 11am.

When the session resumed, the three accused and their bailors were still absent, prompting deputy public prosecutor Mohamad Shahrizzat Amadan to request the arrest warrants.

In a separate case, Sessions Court judge Suzana Hussin issued an arrest warrant against Norshazrina, charged under the Film Censorship Act 2002.

Both courts have set Nov 8 for the next mention.

Lawyer Muhammad Faris Abrar Othman stated that he had contacted his clients the previous day to inform them of the court proceedings on Monday (Oct 7).

“I called them again today, but they cannot be reached. There were ringing tones, but no one answered," he said.

In January, Hasli Ikhwan and the two women were accused of advertising sexual services on X (formerly known as Twitter), which could be perceived as prostitution.

The alleged offence occurred at the CID's anti-vice, gambling and secret societies division (D7) office, Bukit Aman, at 10.10am on Jan 16.

They were charged under Section 372(1)(e) of the Penal Code for prostitution, read together with Section 34 of the same Code, carrying a sentence of up to 15 years' imprisonment, whipping, and a fine upon conviction.
