THE newest Tamil school in the country, SJK (T) Heawood, is expected to be officially launched by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim tomorrow, Makkal Osai reported.

Its governors board chairman S. Thiyagarajan said the school, located in Sungai Siput, Perak, opened its doors to pupils in March 2023.

The school, the 530th Tamil school in the country, has modern amenities and is the biggest Tamil school in Perak.

It is the last of the six new Tamil schools approved during the administration of Datuk Seri Najib Razak.

> The daily also reported that a policeman in India was killed by a flying brick during the demolition of an illegal building.

The incident happened when authorities in Hyderabad were bringing down the illegally built house with explosives.

The officer, who was not identified, was present at the scene to control the crowd.

However, a flying brick hit his head and he later died in hospital.
