PAS man slammed for insensitive remark on KL sinkhole

PETALING JAYA: A PAS delegate's comment that the KL sinkhole tragedy is God's divine intervention has earned the wrath of internet users who slammed him as insensitive and totally out of line.

Internet users took to social media saying PAS makes its own rules, questioning the frequent floods in Kelantan and whether it was divine intervention.

"Do not politicise a tragedy as it is very insensitive to the victim and also the people who fought hard to save her," said @kumari..thevan on X.

"There is no empathy whatsoever for the tragedy but quick to politicise it for their own benefit," said Facebook user William Goh.

Machang PAS youth, Sharif Azhari linked the sinkhole tragedy as retribution from God for what the Federal Territories Minister 'has done' with land in the city.

Others also questioned if the myriad of problems faced by PAS in Kelantan was also God's intervention.

"When it affects them, they call it a test from God. When it affects others, they call it retribution," said @Saiful_Farisin on X.

Indian national G. Vijayalakshmi, 48 fell in the sinkhole, with her remains yet to be discovered.
