Teenage motorcyclist killed and four others injured in road crash in Pontian


PONTIAN: A teenage motorcyclist was killed after a seven-vehicle pileup in Pekan Nanas here.

Pekan Nanas fire and rescue department operations commander Bakhtiar Chik said they were alerted about the accident, which took place along Jalan Sinar Harapan Batu 27 at 7.57am on Thursday (Aug 29).

“Four cars and three motorcycles were involved in the crash.

“Four victims were injured while another two managed to escape unhurt. They are aged between 18 and 32.

“One of the 18-year-old motorcyclists died on the spot following the accident,” he said in a statement.

He added that the other victims got out of their respective vehicles safely and were given medical attention at the scene.
