Chief Secretary to the Govt Shamsul Azri heads list of Melaka governor’s birthday awards


MELAKA: Chief Secretary to the Government Datuk Seri Shamsul Azri Abu Bakar heads the list of 299 recipients of the Melaka state awards and medals bestowed in conjunction with the 75th birthday of the Yang di-Pertua Negeri, Tun Dr Mohd Ali Rustam on Sunday (Aug 25).

Shamsul Azri was conferred the Darjah Gemilang Seri Melaka (DGSM) which carries the title "Datuk Seri" during the ceremony at Seri Negeri in Ayer Keroh here.

The other recipient of DGSM is Army Chief Jen Tan Sri Mohammad Ab Rahman.

Melaka MCA chairman and Klebang assemblyman Datuk Lim Ban Hong and Tourism, Arts and Culture Ministry (Motac) secretary-general Datuk Roslan Abdul Rahman are among 10 individuals conferred the Darjah Cemerlang Seri Melaka (DCSM), which carries the title "Datuk Wira".

Umno Youth Chief and Melaka exco member Dr Muhamad Akmal Saleh also was conferred the Darjah Mulia Seri Melaka (DMSM), which carries the title Datuk.

A total of 71 people received the Darjah Pangkuan Seri Melaka (DPSM), which carries the title "Datuk" including senior consultant surgeon Dr Ravi Kumar Thirunavukarasu.

Lawyer and legal advisor to Melaka entrepreneur, cooperative development and consumer affairs committee, Tan Chow Teng also received the Bintang Khidmat Terpuji (BKT) during the ceremony which was attended by Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail and Melaka Chief Minister Datuk Seri Ab Rauf Yusoh.

Meanwhile, Melaka's Malaysia Gazette representative Muhammad Rizanizam Abdul Hamid and state China Press journalist Wong Chow Kee are among the media practitioners who received the Pingat Jasa Kebaktian (PJK).
