Tajuddin attends Umno assembly despite suspension


KUALA LUMPUR: Despite being suspended, Datuk Seri Tajuddin Abdul Rahman finds it hard to stay away from attending the Umno general assembly.

The former supreme council member admitted that he attended the assembly because he missed the party.

"I truly miss Umno and that is why I am here. I am still a member even though my membership is suspended.

"As a member, I love my party and I hope it will rise to greatness again," he said.

Tajuddin, the former Pasir Salak MP and division chief, was served a six-year suspension by the supreme council in Oct 2022.

Prior to that, he was removed as an Umno supreme council member.

In June, it was reported that Tajuddin is appealing his suspension.

Umno president Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi responded by saying he would raise Tajuddin’s appeal to the supreme council and the party’s management committee.
