PETALING JAYA: Malaysians residing in or travelling to the United Kingdom have been advised to stay away from areas involved in riots over a stabbing incident in Southport.

Wisma Putra has also urged Malaysians to remain vigilant and follow the latest updates and guidance provided by local authorities.

The riots by far right protesters are fuelled by unfounded rumours and misinformation that the person allegedly responsible for the stabbing incident that killed three girls last week was a refugee.
