Johor MB extends condolences to family of late Mahkota rep Sharifah Azizah


JOHOR BARU: Johor Mentri Besar Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi has expressed his condolences to the family of Mahkota assemblyman Datuk Sharifah Azizah Syed Zain, who passed away on Friday (Aug 2).

“I was very sad upon receiving the news of her passing.

“The loss of Sharifah Azizah, fondly known as Ummi, is deeply felt as she was an approachable leader loved by many.

“Her contributions and service to Johor, especially the Mahkota constituency, will not be forgotten. My condolences to the family of the deceased, and may Allah SWT place her soul among the righteous. Al-Fatihah,” he said in a statement.

It was reported that Sharifah Azizah passed away three days after being hospitalised.

Sharifah Azizah, who was also Kluang Wanita Umno chief, was rushed to the hospital after she suffered breathing difficulties on Tuesday (July 30).

The 64-year-old was a two-term representative, having also served as Penawar assemblyman from 2018 to 2022.
