MELAKA: A former assistant administrative officer of the Melaka Islamic Religious Department (JAIM) was fined RM50,000 by the Sessions Court in Ayer Keroh for cheating a teacher of over RM30,000.

Judge Elesabet Paya Wan meted out the punishment after Muhammad Anuar Mat Zin, 39, pleaded guilty to the charge on Thursday (July 27).
