KL 5th most dangerous Asean city? Saifuddin to look into Forbes Advisor report

PUTRAJAYA: Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail says he will look into a report made by Forbes Advisor, a global platform dedicated to help consumers make the best financial choices, that Kuala Lumpur is the fifth most dangerous Asean city for tourists to visit globally.

The Home Minister said the report contradicts the 2024 Global Global Peace Index (GPI), which ranked Malaysia as the top 10 most peaceful countries this year.

"I take note of the report made by Forbes Advisor. Regardless of the analysis, the commitment of the police is towards ensuring peace and public order.

"This is our responsibility," he told reporters after attending the Home Ministry's monthly assembly here Tuesday (July 23).

He was asked to comment on the Forbes Advisor report that named Kuala Lumpur as the fifth most dangerous Asean city for tourists to visit globally.

The ranking is based on several metrics, including crime risk, personal security security risk, health security risk, infrastructure security risk, and digital security risk.

In June, Malaysia climbed nine spots in the 2024 Global Peace Index (GPI), now ranked 10th as one of the most peaceful countries in the world.
