Assistant administrator pleads guilty to submitting false claims over road project

KOTA KINABALU: An assistant administrator was fined a total of RM14,000 for submitting false documents and claims for land acquisition compensation 10 years ago.

Justine B Ongkomog @ Amran B Mohd Osman, who works in the Land and Surveys Department in the Keningau district, was accused of providing these documents and claims on June 2, 2014.

These false documents were for compensation claims following the Sook-Tulid-Sinua road upgrading project (Phase II) at that time.

It was found that the land title submitted was not affected or involved in the project.

The accused pleaded guilty to the two alternative charges before the Kota Kinabalu Special Corruption Court judge Jason Juga on Tuesday (July 16).

The court meted out the fine (RM7,000 for each charge), in default three months’ jail for each charge.

Justine paid the fine.
