Foreign worker found dead in factory following drunken argument

SEPANG: A drunken argument led to the death of a 30-year-old foreign worker found injured in a factory on Friday (July 12), says Sepang OCPD Asst Comm Wan Kamarul Azran Wan Yusof.

"A medical officer from the Cyberjaya Hospital informed the police that the 30 year old man was sent to the hospital unconscious. Checks showed that he was bleeding from the head and hands," he said, adding that the victim died at the hospital.

ACP Wan Kamarul said in a statement on Sunday (July 14) that the follow-up investigation led to the arrest of eight suspects, all foreigners aged 30 to 45-years-old.

He added that the men were arrested in Kampung Pulau Meranti, Puchong and Kampung Baru Sungai Buloh.

"We have successfully recovered a piece of wood that is believed to have been used during the attack," he said.

ACP Wan Kamarul then said that the preliminary investigation showed that the attack was due to a drunken misunderstanding.

"The case is still being investigated and the public are advised to not speculate or share inaccurate information that could affect the investigation process and cause unrest," he said.
