Anita Yuen happy to star in Malaysian Chinese film

HONG Kong actress Anita Yuen, who stars in a Malaysian Chinese New Year film, initially had fears about the country’s hot weather.

However, she found relief in occasional cool breezes during outdoor shoots, which also allowed her to soak up some Vitamin D, reported China Press.

In the movie, loosely translated as OMG! Mum is pregnant, Yuen plays a character who discovers her unexpected pregnancy while she and her husband, played by popular DJ Chan Fong, plan their retirement.

Despite having the script undergoing seven revisions, Yuen said she was drawn to it.

According to Chan, the storyline was inspired by his own life, where his wife’s sudden menopause led them to think they were expecting a fourth child.

“I already have three kids, and a fourth one would disrupt our retirement plans,” he joked.

In the film, Yuen portrays a Hong Kong woman married into a Malaysian family.

Although Yuen expressed a desire to integrate into the local culture by learning Malay, she humorously admitted to frequently forgetting details in the language.
