GEORGE TOWN: The mother of Muhammad Luth Syauqi Nur Sufyan, the second victim who died on Friday (July 12) after eating poisoned snacks, related that she noticed her son had shed tears the night before.
Nurain Hasnorizal, 25, said her youngest son, aged two, was otherwise unresponsive while receiving treatment at Penang Hospital’s paediatric intensive care unit.

"The doctor treating him had informed us to be ready for any possibility as he had been unresponsive since Wednesday and that there was no brain activity.
"Before the doctor took him off life support, I managed to whisper in his ear and tell him that I would be okay if he went and followed his brother,” she told reporters at the forensics department of the hospital here.

While admitting her sorrow of losing two sons in two days, Nurain said she would try to remain strong and was grateful for her family, who have been by her side throughout her ordeal.
She also shared that her youngest son’s body would be prepared for burial at the hospital’s forensics department before being brought back and buried next to his older brother at the Kampung Banggol Berangan Muslim Cemetery.
Muhammad Luth Syauqi died at 1.24 pm on Friday, two days after his older brother Muhammad Akil Syauqi, aged three, died at 8.40 am on Wednesday.
