Sg Bakap polls: Fahmi denies allegations of government machinery misuse

NIBONG TEBAL: The allegations by a PAS lawmaker from Perak that the unity government is using the might of the government machinery to gain votes in the Sungai Bakap by-election have been described as wild accusations by Fahmi Fadzil

"The period of the by-election has just started with the completion of the nomination process of both candidates.

"Instructions from the Prime Minister are to be cautious and vigilant and not to misuse government machinery for campaigning purposes," said the government spokesman after the nomination process was completed at Dewan Serbaguna Jawi here on Saturday (June 22).

On Friday (June 21) night, Manjoi state assemblyman Mohd Hafez Sabri claimed many civil servants are fed up with the ruling coalition's alleged misuse of government machinery in the upcoming poll.

He challenged the unity government to contest against Perikatan Nasional candidates without using government machinery during the Sungai Bakap state by-election.

The Perak PAS youth chief also warned the unity government against making false promises to the people during the Sungai Bakap state election.
