Ng Poh Tip's contributions to journalism will always be appreciated, says Fahmi

KUALA LUMPUR: Fahmi Fadzil expressed condolences to the family of former The Star group chief editor Datuk Ng Poh Tip, who passed away on Saturday (May 25).

In a post on X (formerly known as Twitter), the Communications Minister said Ng had significantly contributed to local journalism as the country’s first woman chief editor.

"All her services and contributions will always be appreciated and remembered. May her soul rest in peace,” he said in his post.

Ng passed away at her home in Subang Jaya. She was 81.

She started her career as a journalist in 1971 and made history as Malaysia’s first woman group chief editor when she was appointed to the post at The Star in 1993, where she served until 2003. - Bernama
