Scheduled water supply disruption expected in Klang Valley from June 5-7 for maintenance works

PETALING JAYA: Seven locations across Klang Valley and Selangor will experience temporary water supply disruption on June 5, for Air Selangor to carry out maintenance and replacement works.

The affected areas are Petaling, Klang, Shah Alam, Gombak, Kuala Lumpur, Hulu Selangor, and Kuala Selangor, Air Selangor said in a statement on Monday (May 13).

"This will cause scheduled temporary water supply disruption starting from 9am June 5, (Wednesday)," it said.

Maintenance works are expected to be completed by 7pm the same day and water supply will be gradually restored starting at 3am on Thursday (June 6).

Water supply in 20% of the affected areas will be restored by 3pm on Thursday (June 6) and 90% by 3pm on June 7, with full restoration to all areas by midnight.

"Please note that the duration of water supply disruption and recovery depends on the distance from the users' premises and the water supply distribution system's pressure," it said.

Water tankers will be mobilised to the affected areas, prioritising critical premises such as hospitals, clinics, dialysis centres and burial grounds.

"Air Selangor advises affected customers to store an adequate supply of water and use water conservatively throughout this period," it said.

For commercial customers, treated water supply can be purchased at any Air Selangor customer service counter in the affected areas.

They can also use water tankers at four water filling stations at Braemar Estet (Hulu Langat); Taman Gemilang Dengkil and Pekan Salak (Sepang); and Taman Banting Baru (Kuala Langat).

More information can be found on the Air Selangor app, its social media platforms, its hotline at 15300 or visit www.airselangor.com.
