KKB polls: Pakatan's win proves political analysts wrong, says Loke

KUALA LUMPUR: Pakatan Harapan's win in the Kuala Kubu Baharu by-election with a larger majority has proven political analysts wrong, says Anthony Loke (pic).

"Before the by-election, analysts predicted an under 1,000 majority but we exceeded this.

"This clearly proves the effectiveness of our election machinery. We did not have many big ceramah but held targetted ones," he told reporters after PKR's 25th anniversary celebration at Sentul Depot here on Saturday (May 11).

Loke, who is also Transport Minister, added there was increased support from the Orang Asli community as well as the early voting involving police and Army personnel.

He also expressed appreciation to Barisan Nasional and Gabungan Parti Sarawak for their strong support.

Loke also advised the winner, Pang Sock Tao to stay humble and carry out the work with sincerity.

"Another agenda is to spur the local economy by promoting eco-tourism," he said.

According to the Election Commission, Pang won the Kuala Kubu Baharu polls with a 3,869 majority, polling 14,000 votes against 10,131 for Perikatan Nasional candidate Khairul Azhari Saut.
