HR Minister uses sign language to congratulate hearing impaired woman at career fair


KUALA LUMPUR: A hearing impaired woman was congratulated by Human Resources Minister Steven Sim (pic) for getting a better job at a recent career festival in Penang.

"Came across Puan Halimaton, a hearing impaired person at the Kesuma MyfutureJobs Career Carnival in Penang.

"Wishing her congratulations for successfully getting a new and better job," he said in a message on X (formerly known as Twitter) on Monday (May 6) evening.

He shared a video of his brief interaction with Halimaton where he signed his name and congratulated her.

He was seen showing her his given sign language name and also signed 'Sim' to tell her his real name.

He then learnt her name and congratulated her for securing a job.
