Couple’s bickering sets off rage-fuelled car crash

KUALA LUMPUR: A driver rammed his car into another vehicle after being agitated by a couple’s loud argument.

Brickfields OCPD Asst Comm Ku Mashariman Ku Mahmood said that the 35-year-old suspect, a friend of a tenant at an apartment building, became enraged by the noisy dispute between the complainant and his girlfriend.

“The argument spilled outside their unit, which led to the suspect intentionally driving into the complainant’s car as it left the parking lot,” he said, adding that although the complainant’s vehicle sustained significant damage, there were no reported injuries.

The incident occurred on Monday at around 2.15pm in Taman Salak Selatan.

Follow-up investigations led to the arrest of the suspect on Wednesday at around 6.15pm.

It was revealed that the suspect has a criminal record and was wanted for investigation in Cheras.

ACP Ku Mashariman said the suspect was charged on Thursday, under Section 427 of the Penal Code for committing mischief.

A 27-second video of the collision was uploaded on social media, depicting a white car colliding with the rear of a black vehicle leaving a parking lot.
