KKB by-election: Perikatan names Khairul Azhari Saut as candidate


PETALING JAYA: Perikatan National nominated Bersatu's Hulu Selangor division chief, Khairul Azhari Saut, for the Kuala Kubu Baharu by-election on May 11.

Perikatan Nasional chairman Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin on Thursday (April 25) announced 54-year old Khairul Azhari Saut as Perikatan Nasional’s candidate in the by-election.

The Kuala Kubu Baharu seat became vacant on March 21, when its assemblyman, Lee Kee Hiong, 58, died.

Nomination Day was on Saturday (April 26), while polling was fixed for May 11.

The by-election is the seventh to be held after the 15th General Election (GE15) in 2022.

The electoral roll for the Kuala Kubu Baru by-election comprises 40,226 registered voters consisting of 39,362 regular voters, 625 police personnel, 238 military personnel and spouses and one absentee voter residing abroad.
