Copter tragedy: Post mortem of victims completed, says Navy

PETALING JAYA: The post-mortem of all 10 victims of the Lumut helicopter crash is now complete, says the Royal Malaysian Navy.

It said the bodies of Muslim victims would be brought to the 23rd Battalion Camp of the Royal Malay Regiment, Ipoh, for solat jenazah (prayer for the departed).

"The body of the late Lieutenant Sivasutan Thanjappan will be brought to his residence in Setiawan, Perak, before being buried on Thursday (April 25)," said the TLDM Strategic Communication Branch in a statement on Wednesday (April 24).

It said the body of Able Seaman First Class Joanna Felicia Rohna would be flown by a Royal Malaysian Air Force aircraft to Serian, Sarawak, to be buried there.

"High officials of the Navy have been appointed to get in touch with the next-of-kin of the victims. They will give all support, from administration of the burial to any other needs of the families.

"The last respects for all the Navy's warriors who died will be carried out according to the naval force tradition at a burial location agreed to by the next of kin," it added.
