De Fam wows the crowd at Melaka state level open house

MELAKA: Dance-pop trio De Fam got to perform live before Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim by belting their trending Hari Raya song - "Alamak Raya Lagi!"

The rising stars, Azira Shafinaz Ramlan, Sophia Liana Sobri and Wani Shamsuddin, who is better known as Cik Manggis, acknowledged that their performance at the Melaka's state-level Hari-Raya open house on Monday night (April 22) was their first before the Prime Minister as well as other dignitaries.

"This was our first time standing on a stage before 'Datuk Seris'," one of the trio told some 20,000 who turned up for the event where 100 menus were served during the event at the Melaka International Trade Centre (MITC) at Ayer Keroh here.

The other VVIPs were Melaka Yang-di Pertua Tun Dr Mohd Ali Rustam, Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, Melaka Chief Minister Datuk Seri Ab Rauf Yusoh and Human Resources Minister Steven Sim Chee Keong.

Also, those who attended the event were state MCA chairman Datuk Lim Ban Hong and Lendu assemblyman Datuk Seri Sulaiman Md Ali, who was the former Melaka Chief Minister.

Guests in the front row of the MITC hall took their mobile phones to capture De Fam's performance at the event.

The captivating "Alamak Raya Lagi!" the song, was first released on March 7 and turned into a pop phenomenon during the Hari Raya festive season.

The song was also one of the top trending videos on social media and has been parodied by many locals.
