When it comes to trending ditties for Hari Raya this year, Alamak Raya Lagi by Malaysian girl group De Fam easily takes the crown.

After catching the attention of South Korean girl group Tri.Be and Indian actor Santhosh Prathap, Alamak Raya Lagi has reached popular Japanese dance group Avantgardey.

In an Instagram Reel posted on April 14, three ladies from the 20-member dance team can be seen dancing along to the catchy Raya tune.

The video quickly went viral on the platform, amassing over 3.2 million views and 111,000 likes at press time.

Azira Shafinaz, one of the singers behind the track, praised the trio’s performance and expressed gratitude for their use of her song.

“Love it! Arigato Gozaimasu (Thank you),” she wrote.

Many Malaysians also left comments expressing excitement about a local song making waves overseas.

“I can’t believe a Malaysian Eid Fitr song reached your group. Love from Malaysia,” said one netizen.

Another added: “Alamak, the song has reached Japan.”

Inspired by the surprise Hari Raya of 2022, whereby celebrations arrived a day earlier than the expected date, Alamak Raya Lagi was originally scheduled for release in 2023.

However, it was shelved due to the group's other commitments.

The music video for the song premiered on YouTube on March 8 and has over 16.7 million views so far.

"Alhamdulillah, this song has gone viral even outside the country, which we never expected at all, and we just want to express our gratitude to those who have supported us," Azira told an entertainment portal on the song's success.

Formed in 2015, De Fam comprises Azira, Cik Manggis and Sophia Liana.
