ARMED robberies are always shocking when they happen, and as such, any video of such incidents tends to go viral online rapidly.

Recently, a viral video surfaced of a man armed with a parang robbing a sundry shop with his head wrapped in what looked like a T-shirt.

Did this incident happen in Rawang, Selangor as claimed?

Hulu Selangor deputy OCPD Deputy Supt Mohd Asri Mohd Yunus said that the incident happened at a sundry shop at Bukit Sentosa in Rawang on Sunday (April 14).

He said that the man rushed into the victim’s shop at about 12:30pm and proceeded to chop into the cash register using the weapon, and escaped with approximately RM300 in cash.

DSP Mohd Asri said that the case is being investigated under Sections 392 and 297 of the Penal Code.
