‘Aidilfitri Madani 2024’ celebration in seven states begins tomorrow


PUTRAJAYA: The Aidilfitri Madani 2024 celebration with Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim will be held in seven states, beginning with Johor tomorrow (April 18).

The event secretariat, in a statement on Wednesday (April 17), said the celebration will also be held in Sabah on April 20, followed by Melaka (April 22), Kelantan (May 2), Kedah (May 4), Penang (May 5) and Terengganu (May 9).

It said the programme in Sabah, which is a national-level celebration, will be hosted by the state government as the host and the National Unity Ministry as the lead ministry.

It will be held at the Sabah International Convention Center (SICC) in Kota Kinabalu, from 10.30am to 3pm.

In Johor, it will be held at Padang Begonia, Angsana Johor Baru Mall, from 4pm to 7pm and will be hosted by the state government, with the Defence Ministry as the lead ministry.

According to the secretariat, the organisation of the Aidilfitri Madani celebration involves a collaboration between the state government as the host and the lead ministry acting as a joint implementer.

It said the event's main purpose was to foster goodwill and unity among the community and enable leaders to meet with the people.

The Prime Minister is scheduled to be present as the main guest at the celebration which the Mentri Besar or Chief Minister of the respective states will also attend.

It said it will also provide an opportunity for more people to celebrate Aidilfitri with leaders at the federal and state levels. - Bernama
