Sabah gives RM600 air ticket subsidy for students

KOTA KINABALU: The state government has announced a RM600 air ticket subsidy for all Sabahan students studying at higher learning institutes in Peninsular Malaysia, Sarawak and Labuan.

Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor said an allocation of RM10mil has been set aside for the subsidy assistance.

He made the announcement during his visit to Penang where he joined Sabahan students breaking fast yesterday.

Hajiji said the one-off special assistance of RM600 per person were funds from the Chief Minister’s special allocation.

“The special one-off flight ticket assistance will be given directly to the students.

“However, detailed information and payment mechanisms will be worked out with the parties concerned.

“This special assistance can be used at any time for students to return to Sabah.”
