Rempit rage: Cops probing viral video of teens on motorcycles fighting


KUALA LUMPUR: A video, which showed a group of teenage mat rempit fighting, has been making its rounds on social media.

The video, with the Kuala Lumpur city in its background, was believed to have been recorded in Bukit Ampang in Ampang.

Selangor police chief Comm Datuk Hussein Omar Khan said the police are aware that the video had gone viral since March 12.

"The incident did not occur yesterday or the day before, instead the incident was recorded before March 12 and went viral on social media.

"We have not received any police report on the fight," he said when contacted on Sunday (March 17).

Comm Hussein said police are investigating the matter despite no report lodged and are urging any information from eyewitnesses.

"We hope any individual with information could come forward," he said.

The 14-second video showed a group of teenagers on motorcycles kicking and hitting a man before some of them fled the scene.
