No plans for M'sia to host Thomas Cup 2026, Adam Adli tells Dewan Rakyat


KUALA LUMPUR: There are no plans for Malaysia to host the Thomas Cup in 2026, the Dewan Rakyat was told.

“This is in line with the Badminton Association of Malaysia’s (BAM) stance to not organise the tournament for now,” Deputy Youth and Sports Minister Adam Adli (pic) told Parliament during question time on Thursday (March 7).

He was responding to a question from Chong Zhemin (PH-Kampar) who asked whether Malaysia intended to host the Thomas Cup in 2026.

The last time Malaysia hosted the prestigious tournament was in 2010.

The next edition of the Thomas Cup in 2024 will be held in Chengdu, China.
