A LOCAL man with learning disabilities who was trafficked to a scam call centre in Myanmar faced a doubly harrowing ordeal when he ended up being a victim of sexual abuse by his superiors, China Press reported.

The man, who was recently rescued and landed at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport on Thursday, was sobbing as he recounted what he had endured there.

According to the man, known only as Xiao Deng, he was lured to Myawaddy, a location in southeastern Myanmar, by a better job prospect in 2022, only to become trapped in a scam call centre.

Unable to fully express his experience in words, Xiao Deng relied on hand gestures combined with simple words and phrases to tell his story.

He told reporters that a fellow Malaysian from Miri, Sarawak, had bullied him.

Xiao claimed that the Sarawakian, along with other executives at the scam call centre, forced another man from Taiwan with learning disabilities to sodomise and fellate him as entertainment.

The abuse left Xiao traumatised, causing him to stop speaking.

His one-year nightmare ended after the scam call centre released him after he was unable to successfully scam anyone due to his learning disabilities and was deemed to be a drain on their resources.

Xiao arrived home in Malaysia on Feb 1 along with a pregnant victim, thanks to the help of rescuers.

He gave his statement to the police before being taken home by his sister at around 1am.

> A teacher in China’s Hebei province was hailed a hero after she knelt in the middle of a road to hail any car willing to drive her pupil to the hospital, China Press reported.

The incident happened on Jan 12 when a three-year-old pupil in her care suddenly fainted.

The teacher discovered that the boy had a high fever.

Fearing that an ambulance would not arrive in time, the teacher carried the boy outside and begged passing cars to stop.

A Good Samaritan stopped and drove them to the hospital.

Recounting the incident, the teacher said she could not remember why she decided to kneel on the road, only that she wanted to quickly flag a vehicle.

The boy’s mother, whose surname is Yang, got two customised banners praising the teacher’s deed before presenting them to her with the help of the police.

Internet users said the teacher’s action touched their hearts.
