RM58mil needed to repair flood-damaged roads in Kota Tinggi

KOTA TINGGI: A total of RM58mil is needed to repair the roads that have been damaged in the recent floods in the Kota Tinggi district, here.

Works Minister Datuk Seri Alexander Nanta Linggi said the damage included pavement damage, broken bridges, roads that have been cut off due to floods, and landslides.

“There are 10 federal routes in Johor that were damaged by floods, including FT3 Jalan Johor Baru-Endau, FT91 Jalan Kota Tinggi-Kluang, FT50 Jalan Batu Pahat-Mersing, and FT99 Jalan Lok Heng.

“To fix this damage, the ministry will need RM21.2mil for repavement works, RM7.9mil for drainage and irrigation repair, RM1.6mil for bridge improvement, and RM27.3mil for landslide repairs,” he said.

He said this when met by reporters after conducting a working visit to a landslide at FT3 Jalan Johor Baru-Endau, near Johor's Army Combat Training Centre (Pulada), here on Saturday (Jan 20).

Nanta added that he hoped the repair works will improve the safety of road users in the state and help smoothen daily commutes.
