Penampang cops looking for 4WD driver in hit-and-run incident

KOTA KINABALU: Police are hunting for the driver of a four-wheel-drive vehicle which was involved in a hit-and-run accident in Penampang.

Penampang OCPD Deputy Supt Sammy Newton said they are investigating this case based on information from the public and a dashcam recording of the incident.

He said no police report has been lodged but police are investigating the case and hunting for the driver involved.

"The victim sustained minor injuries following the mishap," said DSP Sammy.

In a video widely shared on social media, the vehicle is seen going around a roundabout and swerves into the third lane on the left to get to a petrol station.

The vehicle hits a motorcycle, causing the rider and bike to fall on the ground.

The victim is seen clutching his stomach in pain as the vehicle drives away.
