KOTA KINABALU: The body of a man reported missing for two days has been found drowned in a river in Sabah’s hilly Ranau district, about 120km from here.
Rescue workers found the body of Fred Yassin, 42, at the Liwagu River at about 11.30am yesterday.
“The body was found some 300m from the location he was last seen,” said a Fire and Rescue Department spokesman.
The victim was reported missing at Kampung Kimolohing on Monday, he added.
“According to the report, the victim had gone to an orchard with some family members on Monday. His family members used the hanging bridge to cross the river, but the man decided to take the route under the bridge.
“The victim was last seen by his relatives at about 1.30pm.”
