The Queen heads honours list


KLANG: Raja Permaisuri Agong Tunku Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah heads the awards list in conjunction with Selangor Ruler Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah’s 78th birthday celebrations.

Her Majesty will receive the Darjah Kerabat Yang Amat Dihormati (DK).

Sultan Sharafuddin’s cousin Tengku Datuk Putra Alhaj Tengku Azman Shah Alhaj is the second royal recipient and will be conferred the Darjah Kerabat Kedua (DK II).

The investiture ceremony, to be held today at Istana Alam Shah here, will be graced by Tengku Permaisuri Selangor Tengku Permaisuri Norashikin, Raja Muda Selangor Tengku Amir Shah Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah and other members of the royal family.

Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari and Speaker Lau Weng San will also be among the other VIP guests.

Three individuals will receive the Seri Paduka Mahkota Selangor (SPMS) award, which carries the title Datuk Seri. They are Armed Forces chief Jen Tan Sri Mohammad Ab Rahman, Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Razarudin Hussain and YTL Power International managing director Datuk Yeoh Seok Hong.

Selangor state secretary Datuk Haris Kasim and Subang Jaya Medical Centre consultant urologist Prof Datuk Dr Tan Hui Meng will receive the Dato’ Setia-Sultan Sharafuddin Idri Shah (SSIS) award, which carries the title Datuk Setia for men and Datin Paduka Setia for women.

Nine will receive the Dato’ Paduka Mahkota Selangor (DPMS), which carries the title Datuk for men and Datin Paduka for women.

The recipients are Selangor financial officer Dr Ahmad Fadzil Ahmad Tajuddin, Malaysia’s ambassador to Germany Dr Adina Kamarudin, DAP’s five-term Sekinchan assemblyman Ng Suee Lim who was also a former Selangor state assembly speaker and state police chief Comm Datuk Hussein Omar Khan, Court of Appeal judge Datuk Collin Lawrence Sequerah, National Muzakarah chairman Datuk Dr Nooh Gadot, Berjaya Land Bhd deputy chairman Datuk Seri Robin Tan Yeong Ching, United Plantation’s Datuk Carl Bek-Nielsen and Royal Selangor International Sdn Bhd managing director Yong Yoon Li.

Thirteen will receive the Dato’-Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah (DSIS) award, which confers the title Datuk for men and Datin Paduka for women.

The recipients include Star Media Group Bhd chief content officer Esther Ng Sek Yee, Subang Jaya Mayor Mohd Fauzi Mohd Yatim, Klang Municipal Council president Noraini Roslan, Selangor Lands and Mines Department director Dr Yusri Zakariah, Selangor deputy mufti Dr Miszairi Sitiris, Selangor Road Transport Department deputy director Ahmad Kamarunzaman Mehat and SP Setia senior independent non-executive director Philip Tan Puay Koon.

Malaysia’s consul-general in Jeddah, Roslan Sharif, is among 15 recipients of the Setia Mahkota Selangor (SMS) award.

The Setia-Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah (SIS), the Ahli Makhota Selangor (AMS) and the Ahli-Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah (AIS) will be conferred on 13, 15 and 16 persons, respectively.

Selangor Sports Council rhythmic gymnastics coach Shak Yuki and national women’s doubles badminton player Thinaah Muralitharan will receive the Bintang Kecemerlangan Sukan Selangor (BKS) medals.

Seven civil servants from various agencies will also be awarded the Bintang Perkhidmatan Cemerlang (BPC) medal at the investiture ceremony.
