Selangor Sultan presents aid to Palestine fund


SHAH ALAM: Sultan of Selangor Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah handed over donations totalling more than RM4.3mil to the Palestine Musa’adah Fund of the Malaysian Islamic Development Department (Jakim).

His Highness said a total of RM4,374,280.63 was collected from mosques and surau throughout the state.

“I pray that God will reward the infaq contributed by the people of Selangor to help Muslims in Palestine,” he said in a statement issued by Istana Alam Shah yesterday, Bernama reported.

Sultan Sharafuddin ordered that the collection and distribution of contributions from the people of Selangor can be made and coordinated through the Tabung Infak Jariah Umat Islam Selangor.

He also prayed that Allah will protect the sanctity of the Al-Aqsa Mosque in Palestine, so that Muslims can perform prayers and acts of worship in peace.

“I pray that Allah will give victory to the fighters of the Palestinian people to eliminate the tyranny of the Zionist regime and restore their rights and create a free, independent and sovereign Palestinian state,” he added.
