JKM sends essential items to forward bases in Northeast Monsoon prep


KOTA BHARU: The Social Welfare Department (JKM) has sent essential items such as food to all forward bases in preparation for potential floods during the Northeast Monsoon season, says Deputy Women, Family and Community Development Minister Aiman Athirah Sabu (pic).

According to her, the essential goods were sent from the main depot in each state to the forward bases.

"We can't wait till the flood hits to deliver the aid; we will not have enough time. For example, the main JKM depot in Pengkalan Chepa has also sent the essential items to forward bases in all districts in Kelantan,” she said.

Aiman Athirah, who is also the chief of Angkatan Wanita Amanah Nasional (AWAN), the women's wing of Amanah, said this after officiating the Kelantan AWAN Convention here today.

Present was Kota Lama assemblywoman Dr Hafidzah Mustakim.
