Bersatu lodges report alleging four MPs were bribed

PETALING JAYA: Bersatu has lodged a police report against four of its MPs, claiming they were enticed, bribed and threatened into supporting Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

The report was lodged at the Dang Wangi police station yesterday by the party’s youth wing (Armada) committee member Wan Meor Safwat Naqiuddin Shamsudin, urging authorities to investigate the four, Anwar and those involved in the alleged plot.

The report claimed that the four MPs were promised financial aid and assistance for their respective parliamentary constituencies in return for their support, acts which the report claims are forms of abuse of power and bribery.

Wan Meor claimed there was a viral video on social media revealing the identity of a “Datuk” and former aide to a senior political figure who played a role in the plot.

In a related development, Armada chief Wan Ahmad Fayhsal Wan Ahmad Kamal repeated the report’s allegations in the Parliament’s lobby yesterday and named the ex-aide as Datuk Farhash Wafa Salvador Rizal Mubarak.

Farhash Wafa Salvador responded a few hours later by saying he would lodge a police report against Wan Ahmad Fayshal for implicating him.

“I have been out of politics for a while and living my life as a businessperson. I don’t understand why Wan Ahmad Fayshal made such claims against me,” he said.

He added that the accusations against him were made in bad faith and without any concrete proof.

“I strongly deny the baseless allegations made against me.

“I have no knowledge about the claims made by Wan Ahmad Fayshal,” he said.
