Fire in restaurant kitchen causes mall to close

Cause for mall closure: Thick smoke arising from the fire in the restaurant kitchen in the mall.

KOTA KINABALU: A shopping mall here has had to be shut down for a day to allow for ventilator and cleaning-up works to be carried out following a fire in a restaurant kitchen.

The fire, which started from the restaurant’s ceiling exhaust fan that spread to the kitchen, was reported at around 10.30am yesterday.
