Body of unknown woman found on Melaka beach


MELAKA: The body of an unidentified woman was found washed up on the beach of Pantai Puteri in Tanjung Kling here.

Melaka Tengah OCPD Asst Comm Christopher Patit said police found no documents on the deceased who is believed to be in her late 20s.

He said the body was discovered by beachgoers at 8am on Sunday (Sept 24).

ACP Christopher Patit said the deceased was clad in black attire and is believed to be a local based on the BCG injection mark on her left arm.

He said the body was buried under the beach sand and the victim is believed to have died hours before being found.

ACP Christopher Patit said there were no visible signs of injuries on the body when a preliminary check was done on the spot.

He said the body had been sent to Melaka Hospital for a post-mortem.

"We are appealing to members of the public for any assistance in helping to identify the woman," he added.
