Adam Radlan's Jana Wibawa graft trial to begin next May

KUALA LUMPUR: The Sessions Court here has fixed 15 days starting in May next year for the trial of three corruption charges faced by businessman Adam Radlan Adam Muhammad (pic) related to the Jana Wibawa programme.

Judge Suzana Hussin set the date during case mention on Thursday (Sept 14) which was also attended by DPP Farah Yasmin Salleh and Adam Radlan’s lawyer Tan Sri Muhammad Shafee Abdullah.

"The court sets trial dates on May 27 to 29, June 10 to 12, July 9 to 11, July 22 to 24 and Aug 5 to 7 next year," said the judge, who also set Oct 31 for further case management.

Earlier, Farah Yasmin informed the court that she will file a written application to transfer two other cases faced by Adam Radlan before Sessions judge Azura Alwi to be tried together with the three cases in this court.

"The prosecution will file an application within two weeks and today we handed over the list of witnesses to the defence. About 20 witnesses will be called for the prosecution's case," said Farah Yasmin.

On Feb 22, Adam Radlan was charged in the Shah Alam Sessions Court with two counts of accepting bribes amounting to RM4.1mil related to Jana Wibawa.

He was charged a day earlier in the Kuala Lumpur Sessions Court with soliciting and accepting a RM500,000 bribe and again on Feb 28 for soliciting a RM2mil bribe.
